My scientific research was framed in the study of the relationships between human societies and plants (ethnobotany), focused on the inventory of plant traditional knowledge in order to preserve this heritage and to form the basis of research into obtaining new medicines, foods and other products related to human well-being.
My work is primarily centered on the Catalan linguistic domain, where I conduct: basic prospections to inventory traditional knowledge related to biodiversity; meta-analyses to identify general patterns in ethnobotanical knowledge; multidisciplinary studies that connect ethnobotanical information with phytochemistry, microbiological assays, and genetic data.
By linking these areas, I bridge classical ethnobotanical research with other scientific disciplines. This integrative approach not only preserves traditional knowledge but also facilitates to explore solutions to diferent global problems as antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
